Frequently Asked Questions

How often does your company come out?
Most of our customers use our services once a week but we do provide services twice a week or even bi-monthly. We can also provide a one-time or emergency cleanup as needed.

What do you do with the poop?
We scoop it, double bag it, and then it’s completely removed from your home for proper disposal according to local laws and regulations.

Do we work through the winter?
Yes. Dogs keep making their messes all year long, and our company continues to clean up and remove dog waste through winter. If you prefer to put service on hold for the cold months there may be an extra service charge for first cleanup the following spring.

What happens when it snows or rains?
We’ll work in most weather, but a dusting of snow or more as well as extremely cold weather (both of which hardly ever happen here anymore) may stop us. We will postpone that day’s service until the next day or two, when the snow melts away and/or the temperature rises. If there is so much snow that we are prevented from doing that week’s work, then we will not charge for service that week.
Our company will also usually work in rain. A very heavy rainfall or lightning may stop us but we will be able to make up the work later that week or even that day.

What about holidays?
We do not work the following days:

New Years Day Labor Day
Memorial Day Thanksgiving Weekend
Independence Day Christmas Day

When a holiday falls on a regular service day, we will post a work schedule in the customer newsletter attached to your invoice. Service will return to the regular schedule the following week.

**Should any of the above holidays fall on a Tuesday or a Thursday, we may request from you, to close for a four day weekend.

**We may also request from you, to take a week’s vacation sometime during the course of the year. In either one of these cases we will let you, the customer, know in advance and make arrangements accordingly.

Should I unlock my gate?
Yes. We are not going to climb or jump fences, please have your gate unlocked on your service day. You may provide us with a key to the lock or tell us the combination if that will be convenient for you.
If you want, we can provide you with a combination lock.

Can you work with my dog in the yard?
In most cases, yes. We get along well with dogs; we are dog lovers. That is why we are in this business however; there are some cases when a dog will not let us into the yard. If you know that your dog is not good with strangers, or your dog is so friendly that it will not allow us to clean the yard, then we ask that you restrain or confine the dog.
We don’t want to take unnecessary risks with your dog or ourselves.

What if I want to skip a service day?
You will not be charged if you call the company office in time for us to skip your yard that day or contact us through our website the day before the scheduled cleaning. If the dog will be gone from the yard for a couple of days or weeks, or for some other reason you want us to skip your yard for a day or more, we can hold service and you will not be charged for those days.

How do I pay you?
We accept checks, money orders, and all major credit cards through Paypal.

Regular service is billed monthly on a prepaid basis, one month in advance.
Invoices will be mailed out by the 15th of the month and are due by the 1st.

There is a discount offered for those who pre-pay for our services 6 months or a year in advance.
5% for a 3 month pre-pay
8% for a 6 month pre-pay

Rates
All rates are billed per monthly average
For example: we take your rate ($10 per visit for one dog), multiply it by 52 weeks in a year, then divide that number by 12 months.
This way your bill is for the same amount no matter the length of the month.

Are there any contracts I have to sign?
No. We can start and stop your service over the phone. We do not require contracts, there is no minimum service period, and there is no advance notice required to cancel service although a phone call is always appreciated for canceled service.

Is there an initial service charge?
Due to accumulated waste built up over an extended period of time, we charge $25 for the first 2 gallons of waste collected and $8 for each additional 2 gallons collected. After this first time fee, regular rates apply.

Is it possible to get a one-time only service?
Sure! One-time only, emergency, or short term service may be easily arranged.
One-time cleanings are rated at $35 for the first two gallons of waste collected and $12 for each additional two gallons of waste collected from your yard.

All first time or one time cleanings must be paid for upon completion.

If you are a SCOOP GROUP Family Member and are in need of an emergency cleaning, prices will be individually arranged depending on your specific situation.
**Discounts are usually awarded to current customers**

What does your company mean by “Satisfaction Guaranteed”?
We promise that you will get service you are happy with or you don’t have to pay for it! We know our business depends on doing excellent work, and it’s the quality of our service on which we stake our success. We’re working very hard to make our name mean a reliable, high-quality service.
We strive to provide perfect service, but if there is ever a time when our service is not completely satisfactory, please let us know right away. We will make it right, either by coming back to re-clean the yard the same day or the next day, or by crediting your account so you won’t be charged.
